Oscar-nominated composer and lyricist, Dory Previn, died yesterday, Feb. 14, 2012, in her Southfield, MA home. She was 86 years old. She was born Dorothy Veronica Langan on Oct. 25, 1925 in Woodbridge, NJ, where she grew up under difficult circumstances. Her father, who was gassed during World War I, was convinced that he was sterile and therefore Previn could not be his daughter.
