One of the more popular and versatile sub-genres, courtroom dramas combine mystery, suspense and deeply compelling character despite often being limited to few locations. With most of the action taking place inside a courtroom, these films nonetheless deliver plenty of fireworks in the form of bombastic attorneys, rousing speeches and plenty of plot twists. This collection showcases the talent of the controversial British filmmaker and includes Victim starring Dirk Bogarde, the heist thriller The League of Gentlemen , an interracial murder mystery Sapphire and All Night Long , a jazz version of Othello .

Upon its release, it was billed as “The picture that could set our space program back at least 50 years.” Voted “The Worst Movie Ever” by Mystery Science Theater 3000 (and just about everyone else), it’s so bad it’s good!
